Thanks to your generosity, we're already seeing the impact of neighbors helping neighbors.
Through Kitsap Farmers Fighting Hunger, community donations allow local farmers to grow fresh, nutritious food for people in our community who may not otherwise have access to it.
Spring marks the start of the growing season, and we're excited to see farms and fields bursting with abundance. As summer harvest reaches its peak, we'll have even more good news to share in our next update.
Until then, thank you for investing in local food, local farms, and local families. We encourage you to visit your local farmers markets, meet the growers, and enjoy some of the incredible produce being grown right here in Kitsap County. And if you're able, please consider making a donation to support this important initiative, every contribution helps a local farmer grow food for a neighbor in need.
Together, we're growing more than food—we're growing a stronger, more connected Kitsap community.

2,936 pounds of fresh, locally grown vegetables were distributed to Kitsap County food banks during the first half of 2026 through the Kitsap Farmers Fighting Hunger initiative.

Community donations supported purchases from 11 local farms, helping keep food dollars in our local agricultural economy while increasing access to fresh produce.

Fresh vegetables reached 6 local food banks, helping connect nutritious, farm-grown food with families facing food insecurity.
The Kitsap Farm to Food Pantry (F2FP) program buys fresh produce, meat, and eggs directly from local farms and delivers it to Kitsap County food pantries. F2FP supports our community by providing healthy choices for food bank patrons and revenue for our farm businesses. Since 2018, F2FP has invested in our local food system with community donations and state and federal dollars. Now the federal funding for this has been cut completely.
The Kitsap Farmers Fighting Hunger campaign aims to bridge this gap in funding through community support, so that the Kitsap Farm to Food Pantry program can continue to support both local farms and food banks.
"We are grateful to work with WSU and Kitsap Conservation District in this effort. As a partner in this effort, the District leverages all of the relationships they have built with farmers and food banks since 2018 as Kitsap Farm to Food Pantry Program Lead Agency. This partnership ensures all donated funds will do the most good for our community."
